TACTICAL ACTIONS: PRESSING
The pressing is one of the defensive tactical principles of football. It comes from the English "to press" meaning pressure. This action represents a tactical behavior of a team at the situation of loss of ball possession. The main objective is to recover the ball as fast as possible. To perform a good pressing need to make the whole team together and simultaneously, but does not show the same effect.
There are two types of pressing. On the one hand the pressing attack, after loss of ball in the attacking half, is not left out of the defensive zone to the opposing team. On the other side is the pressing in midfield. In turn there are two types. The first is between the two areas where the team pressed after turnover. The second is to wait for the opposing team crosses midfield and then the pressing is done in the half.
